Commitment
We publish books for readers of every kind, so a website that only works for some of them would be indefensible. Here is where we stand and where we still fall short.
Section 01
We build against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. That covers contrast, keyboard operation, focus visibility, text alternatives, and content that adapts to the reader rather than the other way round.
This is a live standard for us rather than a certificate on a wall. Every new page is checked before it ships.
Section 02
A narration control sits in the corner of every page on this site. It reads the page aloud in a natural male voice, section by section, with real pauses between sentences.
It runs entirely in your browser, needs no account, sends nothing to a server, and can be paused, resumed or stopped at any point. Articles and podcast episodes have their own dedicated play controls.
Section 03
The whole site is operable without a mouse.
Section 04
Body text sits at a minimum of sixteen pixels with generous line height. Body and heading colours are tested to meet or exceed the required contrast ratio against our black surfaces.
Nothing on this site relies on colour alone to carry meaning, and text resizes to two hundred percent without loss of content or function.
Section 05
Animations are subtle by design: gentle fades and slow counters, nothing that flashes or strobes. Nothing on this site flashes more than three times per second.
If your system requests reduced motion, we respect that preference and drop non essential movement.
Section 06
We would rather list these than pretend they do not exist.
Section 07
The commitment does not stop at our own site. We build reflowable ebook files that respect reader font settings, we supply alternative text for images in illustrated titles where the format allows, and we check cover typography for legibility at thumbnail size and in greyscale.
If you need a large print or accessible edition of your title, raise it at scoping and we will plan it into production rather than bolting it on later.
Section 08
If any part of this site or any file we produced blocks you, tell us on a discovery call or through your Group Lead. Accessibility reports are treated as priority items, acknowledged within one hour during working hours, and we will describe the fix and the timeline in writing.
We do not publish inboxes or phone numbers. Raise anything on a discovery call, or with your Group Lead if you are already an active client. Policy queries are acknowledged within one hour during working hours.
