Written to be read, not skimmed past. This page explains exactly what we hold about you, why we hold it, and how to make us delete it.
Section 01
Who we are
Miravela Journal is a team of success in publishing and author growth. We work with authors and small presses on manuscript production, Amazon listing optimisation, design, launch marketing and long term growth under the Author Ongoing Growth System™.
We operate as a flat group of specialist teams. Each group holds the data relevant to its own work and nothing beyond that.
Section 02
Information we collect
We only collect what a working relationship actually requires. That falls into four buckets.
Enquiry data you give us when requesting a discovery call: your name, pen name, a contact handle of your choosing, your time zone, and details about your book.
Project data supplied during an engagement: manuscripts, cover artwork, listing links, keyword sheets, sales and royalty screenshots you choose to share, and store credentials only where you explicitly grant limited access.
Commercial data: invoices, payment references and scope approvals. We do not see or store your full card details at any point.
Technical data: anonymous page analytics such as pages viewed, approximate country and device type, collected in aggregate and never tied to a named individual.
Section 03
Why we process it
Enquiry data is processed to arrange and prepare for your discovery call. Project data is processed to deliver the work you commissioned. Commercial data is processed to raise invoices and meet accounting obligations. Technical data is processed to understand which parts of this site are useful.
We do not sell data, we do not rent mailing lists, and we do not enrich your record with third party data brokers.
Section 04
Manuscript confidentiality
An unpublished manuscript is the most sensitive thing an author can hand over. Manuscripts are shared only with the specific group members assigned to your project, are never used to train any machine learning model, and are never quoted publicly without your written approval.
On request we will sign your own non disclosure agreement before you send a single page.
Section 05
Store and platform access
Where a project requires listing changes, we prefer that you grant limited delegated access rather than share a master password. Where a platform offers no delegated role, we ask you to rotate the credential immediately after the work is completed, and we will remind you to do so.
Credentials are never stored in plain text, never shared outside the assigned group, and are removed from our records at project close.
Section 06
How long we keep data
Retention is deliberately short.
Enquiry data from a call that leads nowhere: deleted after ninety days.
Project files: retained for twelve months after final delivery so you can request a reissue, then deleted.
Invoices and scope approvals: retained for the period required by applicable accounting law, and no longer.
Anything you ask us to delete sooner: removed within thirty days of the request unless a legal obligation prevents it.
Section 07
Who we share with
We share the minimum necessary with the platforms your project depends on, such as Amazon KDP, IngramSpark or Draft2Digital, and with the payment processor handling your invoice.
We use standard business tooling for file storage, video calls and accounting. Those providers act as processors on our behalf and are bound by their own data protection commitments. We do not share your data with advertisers.
Section 08
International transfers
Our groups work across several regions, which means your data may be accessed from a country other than your own. Wherever it travels, the same access rules apply: assigned group members only, for the duration of the project only.
Section 09
Your rights
Whatever jurisdiction you are in, we honour the following as standard.
Ask for a copy of everything we hold about you.
Correct anything inaccurate.
Have your data deleted, subject only to legal retention limits.
Withdraw consent for any optional processing, including newsletters, at any time.
Object to a specific use of your data and receive a written response.
Section 10
Security
Access is granted per project rather than per person. Files sit in access controlled storage, shared links expire, and any group member leaving a project loses access on the same day.
If a breach ever affects your data, we will tell you directly and promptly, with a plain description of what happened and what we are doing about it.
Section 11
Children
Our services are offered to adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under sixteen. If a young author works with us, we require a parent or guardian to hold the engagement.
Section 12
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes materially we update the date at the top of the contents panel and tell active clients directly. Continued use of our services after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Questions about this policy?
We do not publish inboxes or phone numbers. Raise anything on a discovery call, or with your Group Lead if you are already an active client. Policy queries are acknowledged within one hour during working hours.
